Digital meetings: Linkando and Rot-Weiss Essen modernize club life

PRESS RELEASE

  • Rot-Weiss Essen has been relying on Linkando for legally compliant and user-friendly meeting management since the COVID pandemic.
  • Linkando Meetings was certified by the North Rhine-Westphalia Municipal Audit Office ("gpaNRW") in 2024.
  • In addition to association meetings, Linkando is also used at committee meetings in the administration or at municipal council meetings.

Landau/ Essen, April 09, 2025 - The software provider Linkando and the traditional club Rot-Weiss Essen ("RWE") want to establish digital and hybrid club meetings as a new standard as part of a partnership. The aim is to facilitate the participation of club members and modernize club life.

RWE has been relying on digital solutions for association meetings since the challenges of the COVID pandemic. With Linkando Meetings, a specialized software for formal online meetings, association members can participate in decision-making processes from any location.

Volker Wiora, Managing Director and founder of Linkando:

"RWE became one of our first customers from the sports sector during the pandemic. This successful collaboration has now resulted in a partnership that we are very pleased about. Digital and hybrid club meetings make it easier to combine volunteering, work and family life. This enables members to participate in club life in a more flexible and uncomplicated way."

North Rhine-Westphalia as a pioneer in digital meeting management

The fact that RWE, one of the largest associations in North Rhine-Westphalia, relies on Linkando is no coincidence: the Linkando app was certified by the North Rhine-Westphalia Municipal Audit Office ("gpaNRW") in 2024 and meets all legal and technical requirements for formal meetings.

The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia has established itself as a pioneer in the digitalization of association and municipal meetings - a trend that more and more federal states are following. In Schleswig-Holstein, for example, digital participation in municipal meetings will be mandatory from 2027, while Baden-Württemberg is discussing similar regulations.
